How to check if you're connected to Wifi

If you are connected to Wifi there will be an ascending group of 5 bars in the system tray (outlined below with the white arrow):

However if you are connected to the network normally (not via Wifi) the following icon will show:

To disconnect from the Wifi, click on the Wifi icon, click the network which is annotated with 'Connected' and select disconnect
